Gary’s HOLLYWOOD/SAG career began with the small, but important, role of the US Embassy Operator in the Costa Gavras directed (1982) Academy Award-winner: MISSING (starring Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek). Gary’s role was filmed in Mexico City.
In 1988, he did his first feature Hollywood role playing Agent Anderson in the cult-classic DRUG RUNNERS (starring Aldo Ray). Gary’s role was filmed in Mexico and Los Angeles.
In 2011, Gary played the character Mayor John Brown in the Hollywood 3-D Science Fiction Disaster film DAM 999 featuring Bollywood villains Ashish Vidyarthi and Rajit Kapur plus Joshua Fred Smith. Gary’s role was filmed in Ooty, India.
In 2012, Award-winning director Mira Nair cast Gary to play a three-scene role as Professor Anse Rainier in The RELUCTANT FUNDAMENTALIST (starring Kate Hudson, Liev Schreiber, Riz Ahmed and Kiefer Sutherland). Gary’s role was filmed in Old Delhi, India.
INDIAN MOVIES AND BOLLYWOOD: Marathi-language director Paresh Mokashi’s 2009 Indian Nomination for Academy Award for Best Foreign Movie: HARISHCHANDRACHI FACTORY. Gary played the Hollywood movie tycoon Wallace Hepworth. Gary’s role was filmed in Pune, India.
Gary’s BOLLYWOOD debut was in 2000 in Ram Gopal Varma’s JUNGLE, playing a small role as a kidnapped foreigner. Most notably, he was a feature dancer in the movie’s hit song by Sonu Nigam: Ayo, Ayo Rama. Gary’s role was filmed in Kerala, India.
Gary has done over a dozen Indian movies including: Ab Ke Baras (2002) with Amrita Rao; Shaheed (2002) with Sunny and Bobby Deol; and Pazhassi Raja (2009) with South Indian movie legend Mammootty. Gary's last Indian movie is the Girish Malik award-winning, environmentally themed JAL in 2014. He plays the scientist Richard Roberts. It is set in the Rann of Kutch, India.
